MacDaddy Inpsired

Hey my lovelies,

Having been given the most perfect set of Zoeva Brushes for my birthday the

other week I could not even wait to try them out. The more I do my make-up the more I like to challenge myself and try something new.
As you will all know by now, I LOVE my fake eyelashes, you will never catch me without them ... until I did the next look which i am about to share with you.

MacDaddy is another Instagram make-up artist who is truly spectacular and he often uploads simple eye looks without no lashes. I always used to think fake eyelashes completed a look but i was so wrong. The natural looks he does are STUNNING! go check him out girlies, if you are following me on instagram i have tagged him in my most recent make-up post.

I have never done anything like this before, no eye-liner, no lashes, yet I was surprisingly SO happy with the end result.
So yet another spotlight look but a softer one.

1. First of all, i used my Urban Decay eye primer to ensure the shadows stayed on as long as needed and so the colours appeared as pigmented as possible.

 2. I used my new '227' Zoeva brush to apply 'Buck' from the original Naked Palette (another one of my perfect birthay gifts) to highest point of the look, just above the eye socket bone.

3. I then blended 'Creep' underneath, avoiding the center ball of the eye.

 4. The gold used on the ball of the eye is 'Smog' with a tiny bit of 'Half Bake' right in the center.

5. As you can see, the edge of the look is blended, and not neatly finished. Both 'Buck' and 'Creep' are blended round the eye and carried under the bottom lashes.

6. From my Naked Palette 2 i used 'Booty Call' to highlight in the inner corner of the eye (the names of their shadows are the best!!)

7. Lastly, before adding mascara (so weird not telling you all to get your fake lashes ready), I used 'Foxy' for Naked Palette 2 under my eyebrows to highlight and give the illusion of lifting the arch.

8. For contouring I used my contour kit from Anastasia Beverly Hills! PERFECTION.

Not forgetting the lips!! Since I chose i softer less dramatic eye look without   liner, i decided to go with a neat dark lip. MAC Media lipstick and Currant Lip liner. To get a clean edge around your lips you can use a small concealer brush with a little bit of concealer to clean any excess liner.

I hope you guys all like this look! I promise ill start taking progress pictures to                      go along with my step by step instructions!

                                           Good luck ladies..

Lookamillion Inspiration

'Lookamillion' is the most talented make-up artist on instagram, if you haven't seen her work yet then you are missing out. You MUST go look!!!!!

Recently on instagram she posted the most gorgeous look, I instantly felt inspired by it and wanted to try it myself .. although i knew there was no way any one could even compete.

Look at it, is it just perfect. I didn't even attempt to recreate this look but instead, just used it as inspiration for a similar look. i really hope you all like it.

So here it is! I chose to swap the gold used in 'lookamillion's look with the gorgeous MAC Kitschmas A21 pigment as i wanted to keep this look quite light and for the colours to flow better.

I absolutely loved what she had done with the added glittered eye liner, so chose to use my Urban Decay Heavy Metal silver eyeliner on the inner corner of the bottom lid and between the two liner wings as shown in the picture.

I love how the dramatic eyeliner gives an Arabic feel to the look and makes the eye make-up stand out.

I am definitely going to be trying
more of Lookamillion's looks. Her work is on another level and really motivates me to work on my makeup and to challenge myself and push the boundaries.

Definitely make sure you keep checking in on my blog to see more
of my looks and how other artists inspire me and hopefully one day ill be able to inspire one of you too.

Get practicing girls and let me
know how you all get on!

   Good Luck!

My Arab Beauty

Finally I am back and have some time to update my blog!!

So I was sat at work thinking about just how much i miss doing my make-up and, of course, sharing it with you all. So i phoned my gorgeous best friend here in Dubai and asked if she would be my canvas.... which (lucky for me) she said yes.

So there was no specific inspiration behind this look, just me playing about with golds, browns and oranges. You should all know by now how much I love my golds and browns.
My best friend Dina is such a naturally beautiful girl that she could make even my worst make-up attempts look good. She's just so stunning.

I used the gold from my Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 as it is so pigmented and just looks amazing when it catches the light. I put it on the ball of her eyelid, in the center to create a spotlight effect with a chocolate brown surrounding it which faded into an orange-brown in the corner of the eye. Final touch of some simple winged eyeliner and fake lashes and the look was complete.

Dina's skin is naturally flawless so she didn't need much coverage, just some contouring and lippie and she was all set.

Poor girl had to deal with me signing my name on her in Arabic with eyeliner. I just wonder if i would get away with doing to that to all my models? Every artist should sign there work one way or another though right?!

I had so much fun practicing on my gorgeous best friend, and I can tell you from now you will no doubt be seeing again very soon.

Prom Queen

My Gorgeous girls,

First, let me apologise for being missing in action for so long, I had to put my make-up on hold while i concentrated on my exams but I'm really hoping the recent prom make-up I'm about to share with you will make up for it.

While out on holiday in Dubai I was asked by one of my favourite girls if I was free to do some prom make-up for her friends. I was flattered! My client was a stunning Malaysian girl called Mohairah who it was a perfect
model. I absolutely loved
creating this look on her and was very happy with the end result, as was Mahairah thankfully.

First things first, i had to make sure my model's make-up was going to stay put all night, through all the dancing and prom antics, especially her eye make up so I used Urban Decay eye Primer which meant i could be certain it would stay perfect all night long. For my models face i used Benefit Primer, which worked as the perfect base for the foundation, protecting the skin while keeping her foundation in tact.

With darker skin-toned models, creating 'spotlight' eye make-up is the best way to really make their eyes stand out. For the center of the eye I used 'Sin' from my Urban Decay Naked Palette, which was the perfect light yet sparkly colour to use and work around.

As my client's stunning specially tailored dress was red, I chose to incorporate a hint of maroon blended with black to create a smokey effect in the outer corner of the eye. This allowed me to tie her make-up in with her outfit without going over board with the red and causing a red overdose.

Finally, on the inner corner of her eye i again used a touch of maroon and black to create the spotlight look in the center of her eye-lid and complete the whole look. Finishing touch was of course the eyeliner and lashes. No look is ever complete without the lashes ladies, never forget that.

Tell me what you think,
